AirClean® Systems PowderSafe Class 1 enclosures create an ideal environment to protect the laboratory personnel from potentially harmful particulates or allergens when small animal cage-changing activities are completed. PowderSafe, with HEPASafe™ filtration technology, provides constant negative pressure across the worksurface that draws the contaminated air into the rear wall where a bank of particulate filtration, both pre-filters and HEPA filters, are located. The redundant HEPASafe filtration design allows for simple and easy filter change out. While the enclosure’s pre-filters and main HEPA filters are changed, the redundant HEPA filter will capture contaminates freed during the filter change out. In addition to particulate containment, PowderSafe Animal Cage Changing stations can be fitted with bonded carbon filters to capture any odors or fumes associated with the cage change out.
Our enclosure is equipped with a drum port to safely dispose of waste or bedding while the unit is operational. The waste port is designed so that a trash bag or other collection bag can easily be secured to the unit so that no waste or bedding escapes during disposal. The enclosure comes with a metal stand that will easily accommodate a standard trash can on wheels.
Constant monitoring of airflow and filter conditions is achieved through our AirSafe® Automatic Safety Controller. AirSafe monitors the face velocity and proper airflow per user or factory preset levels. In the event of insufficient airflow, the controller will alert the user if potentially unsafe conditions arise. As laboratory personnel interact with the enclosure, airflow is automatically adjusted and filter conditions are constantly monitored, reassuring the end user that the enclosure works correctly. The primary goal of AirSafe is to ensure the PowderSafe enclosure maintains a safe environment to capture both particulate and fumes during animal cage changeout
